1. It’s a cupcake o’clock 🇺🇸

I believe that you have had the opportunity to enjoy a cake called a cupcake or a cake in a cup, at a birthday, a celebration or somewhere in a candy shop. The name cupcake refers to a cake whose ingredients are measured with a cup. It is also called 1234 cake because it consists of four ingredients: one cup of butter, two cups of sugar, three cups of flour and four eggs. A recipe written in this way is easy to remember, and even easier to make.

Cupcake is associated with the western ie. American culture, and because of its adaptability it can be made with various flavors and decorations. At the beginning of the 20th century, with the development of new technologies, modern ways of baking cakes were developed, and the cakes are airy and soft. The airy structure of the cake is explained by the thermal decomposition of baking soda, formally known as sodium bicarbonate, which is actually a white crystalline powder, naturally alkaline, i.e. basic. Baking soda is activated in combination with acidic ingredients and liquid. After activation, carbon dioxide is produced which allows the dough to rise and become light and airy. It is recommended that baking soda be used for cakes with acidic ingredients, such as lemon juice. However, for cakes that are made from neutral ingredients such as milk, it is better to use baking powder that contains baking soda with added acid, and its taste is mild and neutral.

At the end of this video, we recommend a cupcake recipe so you can see the effects of baking soda for yourself.
